Space and Place
The location for this project was determined by closing my eyes and sticking a pin in a map. I had to create a series of work based on the location I had within a one mile radius. My location was an RSBP Nature Reserve on the marshes of Tolleshunt D'Arcy, Maldon, Essex. After exploring the area I found a sea defense wall that was in the process of being eroded by the sea. I am fascinated by this process of decay over time, and how the erosion and rust created a series of individual patterns and colours. By shooting closely it has allowed me to take away the sense of depth, creating abstract landscapes within my original landscape.
